One hell of a Song and Dance

I sing....

....and I dance!

I decided I would like to level DNC as a sub for solo, campaign, misc etc and after hearing from Bubbo and Loren that it is fun and easy as a duo into the 30's, I asked Alessandra if she wanted to level with me to which she heartily agreed.

We leveled to 10 solo and then got together last night for a little less than an hour and made it almost to level 12! When we hit 15, theres just gonna be no stopping us! Gogo Curing Waltz! Worms are our prime target due to low HP and crappy acc on their part and DNC'd relatively good evasion.

If anyone wants to try this, we have found that DNC/BRD is great. It allows for 2 songs on you at any one time. We use Paeon and either Minuet or Minne (usually Minne to reduce the damage taken which can be quite a difference). Plus it's a singing and dancing fiesta!

Wheee! DNC duo is fun!

Skyserpent saga

As many in Vana'diel can atest to, the is a very cool line of quests detailing how the generals in beseiged came to be. Here are just a few of the cooler pic's I snapped as I went through the quests.

NM hunting BST style

Yesterday, Aless and I decided we'd take a page out of Decu's book and go hunt some NMs in the Boyahda Tree, the Labyrinth of Onzozo and various other places.

No Ancient Goobbue today sadly but Aless did make a showing of how mean she can be and wtf Belan?

We arrived at Onzozo to no NMs up at the time so we decided we kill the placeholders for LoO, Narasimha and Soulstealer Skullnix. A few minutes later LoO pops in front of us! Can I just say Torama's are very hardy pets down there.

LoO wasn't feeling very generous though ; ;

While we were killing LoO, I ran around the corner to see Narasimha sitting there waiting. Happy day we thought and once LoO was down, mini Kirin was next. He's even scared of me.

Soulstealer must have gotten word that we were in the area and rocking these bigger NMs and decided not to show up.

Of course we were feeling very chipper at this point and decided to go check Kuftal for Guivre. No luck. Madkix and the Sabotender NM didn't want to come out and play either so we run through Cape Terrigan to Gustav to find Taxim hanging out. I didn't realise he was so weak >.>

Our last stop saw us in Ifrits Cauldron to check on Tunnock but to no avail.

A fun evening with a good friend. To anyone thinking of leveling BST, I love it. So much freedom that you just don't get on other jobs. Its even more fun with a friend!

Nyzul Isle Update #1

Our second week of being able to farm floor 20 yielded some more boots this week. Another pair of Askar on our first run which I got to have (yay, 1/5 though they WERE last on my list of desirables lol) and another Goliard for Ny who got out lotted last week. We will do a few more farming runs at floor 20 as well as starting our second disc and advancing mine over the next few weeks. The hope is that we can get 3 more Goliards and one set of Denali in that time so we can leave behind floor 20 for good.

Our 3rd run of the night (Tuly only had 3 tags unfortunately) saw us get boned royally. Floor 16 was kill Specific enemies which turned out to be wide spread Soulflayers. I have decided they are more hated than Goblins for me now. >.< 17 & 18 passed by without a hitch only for 19 to arrive and have us kill the leader of the floor which was.....you guessed it, a Soulflayer. Ny and Az end up dead from add's due to us rushing and the evil Bio Flayers can inflict. We arrived at 20 with 4 minutes remaining and Fafnir waiting for us. Hmmm...weakened RDM and BRD and less than 4 minutes remaining. Can we do it? NO! but we tried anyway ^^ This gave Loren the opportunity he apparently was waiting for to MPK us all by inducing a Spike Flail which coincidentally is absorbed by TWO shadows.

What was Loren's response to being called a jerk? lol

I was happy to see we got him down to about 75% in 90 seconds without the use of any 2 hours.

All in all, another fun night getting more boots for our group and don't I look rather sassy in my new boots?

More random FFXI fun

Starting out with some rare RDM footage...

Loren was needing Garuda's Wind belt for our upcoming Ouryu attempt hoping that the +20 earth resistence would be of value so I volunteered to come help him and in the process, break out my rusty ol' RDM for it. The fight went about as expected especially since we disobeyed the cardinal rule of not fighting avatars on their elemental day of the week. Yay for Garuda fun on Windsday! So what did that mean in the end? Aerial Blast > Loren!

I had commented that I was yet to fight an avatar that broke through my Stoneskin with its 2 hour. Well that record was broken as you can see above but nonetheless, RDM > Avatars and Garuda did not prevail. Good thing we RDM's have raise too eh Loren? :p

Grats on the belt that was used for our Ouryu fight as stated previously. Ouryu didn't go so well but as a linkshell that is relatively new and doesn't have the fire power to tp or mana burn things yet, I think we did OK. We really had no idea what to expect. I decided in the end to come out on RDM/BST to look after the worms and provide some refreshes and cures here and there. A fun fight but it got a little frustrating after about the 4th death. Kinda felt like we were banging our proverbial heads on the wall. I guess the LS bosses wanted to get as much info and experience from the fight as they could for next time.

More BST fun. Apparently carrie can randomly use 2 tp moves in one go. I wish I knew how to recreate this but alas...

And last night, I was farming in the Boyahda Tree and decided to check on Ancient Goobbue while I was there. Now I have tried him a couple of times before. As a duo, hes cake. Solo on /whm? I don't know how people do it. I DID get him to 4% once on /whm and then made the mistake of meleeing with my pet to finish him off. KER-SPLAT! Ancient Goobbue pwns Ennayram. Now when I farm in the Tree, I always do it /nin which I find to be faster and more efficient. I had also heard that AG is easier on /nin and now I have to agree. I died on my first attempt though when I lost concentration and the T leech I was using uncharmed and bought AG and a bunch of his friends over to visit. Second time around, I just used the crawlers which while only check as DC, a) charm without a hitch...EVER! b) don't uncharm and c) do about the same damage as the leeches seemed to do

No Great Katana drop...AGAIN but I'm stoked to have gotten my revenge on this {Bastard sword}. I'll be back for more you big mean sack of %$@#!! XD

Nyzul Isle - Beginnings

I recently approached some friends to gauge interest in starting a static for the Nyzul Isle Investigation assault mission to which I was met with some enthusiasm so we got it started last week and did really well on our first 10 floors.

This week we planned to move up to 20 and hopefully get a couple of drops for the group. After successfully passing 11-15 without a hitch, we made our first attempt at 16-20. We are quite amused to see the hardest of the 3 possible bosses at floor 20, Fafnir but we knew we had a good set-up and lots of time (some 11 minutes) to take him down. 50 birrion Hurricane wings and 6 minutes later....BAM! Fafnir falls and we get our first drop....Goliard clogs! Congrats Tulaq on winning the first lot. Sorry Nyena but you get the next pair, I promise ^^

With 2 more tags and brimming with confidence, we decided we'd try for more footware for the group and took another shot. As many people already know, Nyzul Isle can really stick it to you with floors that are most uncooperative and we came up against this on our 3rd tag as Tulaq ended up dead and us arriving at the 20th floor with only 1 minute remaining.

Undeterred, we decided our last tag would be used and we would take one more shot at 20 for the night and we weren't to be denied this time. We arrived at 20 again with plenty of time to get tp on the rampart and seeing that our foe would be Behemoth, we were excited to see what our next drop would be. Congrats Loren on.....Askar Gambieras!

Next week, we will be starting our 2nd disc and taking another couple of shots at 20. Stay tuned for more updates.

Yay team!

Special thanks to Belan for coming along and helping while our regular Bard, Azurea was away sick. Much appreciated my friend!

Happy New Year!

Well then. Happy new year everyone. Thanks for stopping by again ^^

Had a great start to the new year nabbing the Yagudo queen that a few people in RRB wanted to nab. She looks really cool and has a primo looking staff. Think of the damage I could do weilding THAT puppy. ::drool::

We also had Tuly showing off his Mandau again. I just know he positions himself so that any screenshot I take will capture the Mandau.

Congrats Ny on the dagger. Next we have to kill this {Bastard sword} as Aless will atest to him pwning me in Qulun Dome last time we were there farming/goofing off. He really hears from a LONG way away.

Yay team!

In other news...

Patroclus's helm

Evil rampaging

GM standing around in Whitegate (just showing off I bet >.<). 0 dmg my sweet @$$!

Must kill Bubbo

Oh crap...

Cooking 95

So that about does it for this installment. I will do one for WoTG soon as I recently got my expansion and have had lots of fun exploring the new areas.
