Blog layout update

If you are navigating through my blog and notice how all over the place pictures and text seem to be, bear with me. I changed the layout of the blog as I didn't like the narrow layout I had before and decided on this wider version. Its a little plain but I think it has more possibilities to look cool. So bear with me while I find the right layout. Everything should be fixed in a few days....or so >.>

HNM's & NM's #3

In the continuing fashion of posting HNMs and NMs that I come across, here's a couple more from just recently.

Xolololololotl....

We were here to try and get Lexia the gloves he drops for her uber MNK that she is working on.. We didn't get the claim as you can see but I desire the hat that he also drops and just so happened to drop this time according to the party that killed him. Next time Lexi!



Ancient Goobue....

He RARELY (quite the understatement) drops the Daihannya Great Katana which at the moment sells for between 450k and 600k on our server. A pretty penny indeed in todays economy. No such luck today though ; ;

BST > World

Ok so intimidating mobs is fun. Intimidating NM's is even more fun. Intimidating HNMs?......well thats just so right! So this will be a post of me intimidating NM's across Vana'diel. I will update as they happen so check this space often :p

Its official....

I picked up my Rajas 2 minutes later. So far I'm -ok- with the decision though I feel quite dirty for having tossed the ring I drooled over for 2 years as I worked through the PMs. It will pass I'm sure especially as I make good use of Rajas on BST and WAR.

As I cleared out some of my unecessary RDM gear these 2 pieces also felt the brunt of my tossing rampage...

So for now, RDM is retired to farming, exp scroll quests and the odd exp party if I get bored. WAR will be in the limelight for a while as I attempt to level it to 75. The idea is to have a job that can do awesome damage, get regular meripo invites and can be used for tp burning HNMs.

A monumental decision?

Hmm....

I am thinking I will retire my RDM and level WAR.

This means there will be some selling of gear, reconfiguring macros and starting the road to 75....again. Well I'd be starting from 37 anyway >.>

I have tons of BST gear to be used on WAR and shock of all shocks, I think I will trade my Tamas ring to a Rajas ring. /shocked! orz I feel so very dirty as I contemplate /tossing my Tamas ring ; ;












Now I'm a pretty impulsive guy at the best of times so I wonder if I will regret this decision in the not too distant future but I'd really love to have a FULL ON DD job. Something that can be used in meripo's, tp burns etc and I like the flexiblity and versatility of WAR.

I will still use RDM to farm in SSG etc when bored, perhaps go fishing on, do the odd Gration or something.

Hmmm....

GOGO Mandau!

RogueRiceBalls has a really great Linkshell filled with lots of cool people some of which have really, really nice gear.

Tulaq is one of our LS leaders and is also a leader in SoyMilk, a dynamis linkshell on Carbuncle.

Tuly is a 75 RDM and THF (maybe some others that I don't know of >.>) though he mainly plays THF these days, only breaking out the RDM when the need arises. So as a 75 THF, what is the best weapon one can possess?.........

..........I give you, The Mandau!

Tuly has been working on his own uber dagger for a couple of years now. I have heard often about how hard it has been to get certain drops needed to obtain this dagger of all daggers and how hard Tuly has worked to farm etc to be able to pay for it. Maximum respect has to go out to SoyMilk and its members for helping Tuly toward his goal. Just recently, he made the 2nd to last upgrade of his Relic Dagger to the Batardeau.

So there I was running around in Aht Urhgan Whitegate a couple of nights ago and saw a glint of gold on a random THFs hip. /check! Mandau o.O I quickly proceeded to say hello and ask him if he wouldn't mind showing me it in action and very kindly he did so. check out the Mandau in action...

And whats the Mandau all about? MERCY STROKE! Note how hard the THF was hitting on normal melee hits O.O

Congrats so far Tuly. Keep it up. I capped out my Freeze II to burst on your Mercy Stroke induced Darkness skillchains! Looking forward to watching it in action.

RPK, EPK and really good math

So I have been hanging out with Rathiel quite a bit lately. "What are you thinking Enn?!" I can hear some of you thinking as you read this. Trust me, the thought has gone through my head a few times as well >.>

I keep going back for more punishment because its actually really quite amusing at times and to be fair, Rath really is quite good at what he does. Every week, we get together at some point to do week exp scrolls. Rath did a really good write up on it on his blog which you can check out here.

He coined the term "RPK" a little while back which has taken off in the LS. RPK was taken from the FFXI term "MPK" which stands for "Monster Player Kill". We BSTs used to be able to charm an aggressive monster, take it to a nearby bunch of douchebags attempting to steal our camp sites, release it and watch it attack the douchebags and usually kill them all. Well now Rath has decided that since he can't do that with the aggressive monsters of the world, he will take it upon himself to maintain the balance of life and death in Vana'diel. What does this mean to this blog posting? Well, inevitably one or both of us end up dead. Now, I HATE dying. HATE IT! It makes me really mad and I take every necessary measure not to die. I take my time going places, I don't challenge the dojo of mobs that will most likely own me and I exp with good players. Don't get me wrong, I'll take one for the team when the situation demands it but its the unnecessary, preventable deaths that really get up my nose. This is the kind of death that seems to happen with alarming frequency when I hang out with Rath. The funny thing is, for some reason, I don't mind as much. I think Altana is making me hang out with him to get me used to death and take it more with a grain of salt.

Heres one example of RPK. "Lets go and duo Limbus" Rath says to me. "OK ^^" I say like the fool I am. BAM...Dead.















Well thank Altana for giving me the opportunity to have a little paybacks ^^b Here I am "PLing" Rath on his SMN. Read: EPKing Rath on his SMN. Muwhahahaha!





























Another constant lately has been his absolutely crap internet connection. I have a theory. The appearance of this little gremlin coincides with the connection turning to custard. Look at him just standing there staring at us dead people.....















On another note, we have been doing some more fishing. I think I have convinced Rath to do the Lu Shangs rod quest with me. I also need to skill my fishing up closer to 30 so I can catch Noble ladies for cooking Dorado sushi as I dinged 90 Cooking this passed weekend ^^ I hope I never see another Rolanberry pie in my life















Raths alternate personality....or is that his real one that he keeps hidden? The frilly elf girl or the RPKing menace of an elf male? I'll let you decide. While you think about it, ask yourself what the hell he/she is doing with the fishing rod here?

Beware when you hang out with this guy. He hax, kills "friends" and has really good math. :p Thanks for all the "fun" Rath. Looking forward to some more. ^^b

Merit update

Thought I might take a leaf of of Nyena's (our LS Megaboss) book and make a post with my merit situation as it stands.

Keep in mind this is done at work so I may miss afew but I'm usually looking at my merits everytime I'm on so I have a good idea where each one is at.

So without further adue, I present to you, Ennayram's merit point schedule!

Black Mage:

Thunder potency: 5/5
Ice potency: 5/5

Freeze II: 3/3
Burst II: 2/2
Tornado II: 1/1 (Kirin must die >.>)

Beastmaster:

Killer effects: 1/5
Sic timer: 1/5

Not sure here yet. I will definitely cap Sic timer but the other I'm unsure. Perhaps I will cap Call beast timer and remove the Killer effects one? I don't know yet.

Beast Affinity: 3/3
Feral howl: 1/1

Thinking I will sink the remaining catagory 2 merits in Killer instinct for the rare occasion a killer trait for the whole pt might be useful. I'm thinking Kirin with a plant pet to allow the tank pt to intimidate him on the run. We'll see.

Red Mage:

Ice accuracy: 3/5
Wind accuracy: 2/5

Still not sure here either. I will definitely cap Ice but I'm thinking about sinking the remaining into Earth as I capped Slow II.

Paralyze II: 1/1
Slow II: 3/3

I am relatively sure I will erase my Paralyze II one and cap Bio III.

General:

HP/MP: 4/8 MP - definitely going 8/8 MP.

Attributes: 0/5 - definitely going 5/5 STR at this point. Saving till last as they take so long.

Combat skills:
Axe: 3/8 - 8/8 for sure
Evasion 1/1 - will probably erase this for Sword merits. 8/8 Sword is probably my path here.

Magic skills:
Elemental magic skill: 7/8 - this is what I am working on right now. 8/8 for sure.
Enfeebling magic skill: 3/8 - this will get 8/8 also.
Dark magic skill: 1/1 - this will get deleted once I get Enfeebling to 7/8 and have 3 merits to finish it to 8/8.

Other skills:
Crit hit up: 2/4
Enemy Crit hit down: 0/4

So that all equates to a grand total of 52 point upgrades using 138 merit points to achieve it. Kinda makes me wanna cry how much time I have spent on it with so much more to go. >.>; Apparently, to cap everything for these 3 jobs as well as the general merit points (as far as my ideas go for now), I need 190 more merit points......ewww. 1,900,000 LIMIT POINTS. Ennayrams brain explodes!

Please comment on ideas or thoughts as to where my merits should go or have gone. Advice is welcome at this point.

BST fun

Seems that all I want to do lately is play on BST >.> Not a bad thing but maybe I should hit up some of these pt's that people are getting 150+ chains in on RDM or something? o.O

Anyway, here's a couple of pics from one of my recent duo outings with Serpical.






Pets are hax. Note the fine form of the rabbit climbing the tree to kick the dhamel in the head instead of the ankles. Not just strong but clever too are these bunnies.












Chain 4.... (nice Rampage if I do say so myself :p)














Chain 5 wins! Just wish my Empress band would last longer. At the rate we go, it finishes in about 20 mins. Again, note the decent Rampage. ^^b














And just as a side note.....yes, Hakutaku is scared of me.

More new BST gear! Almost done! /psych

What a great weekend! Got lots done in game and to cap it all off, I got 2 more pieces for my BST build (Pahlu pants can be used for my lolmeleerdm build too) and that means I'm almost done for BST gear ^^b

Yay for an assault group that sticks together. Loren, Bubbo and I have been doing Assault together for a few months now and we just pick up another LS member or friend as needed. This day we were happy to have Endlessxchaos along for the 2nd time to beat some Mamool Ja Savages into submission. Maybe he will become a regular addition? We'll have to see!

And here are the pants themesleves. They will be part of my WS build. I'll be testing to see how they fair against my other new melee pants below.

So that was Friday. 2 days later we are in Sky as we often are as a LS and having another crack at the big kitty named Byakko. We had 2 pop sets and 2 people hoping for their haidate (Yay Bale!). First fight goes smoothly and BAM! You find a pair of Byakko's haidate on Byakko! OMG, OMG! Bale lots and lots 17 ; ; So at this moment I'm thinking to myself "Hmm, maybe I should let Bale have them. He's a regular NIN after all", "I've been waiting for a shot at these for 2 years" & "Well, if I can't beat 17, S.E. really hates me and Bale deserves them anyway" so I lot.....352! OMG! Byakko's haidate: O. It was a little bitter/sweet for me as Bale missed out. We had one more run so I told Bale good luck and off we go again. BAM x2! You find a pair of Byakko's haidate on Byakko! Wheee. Yay for Bale! Congrats fella!

And here are the pants themselves again. They are uber because of Haste+ making me swing faster. DEX +15 is nothing to sneeze at either. They are part of my tping build and bring me up to +17 Haste ^^

So with that, I have 2 key pieces for my BST builds. Haidate for tping in (Haste +5 GO!) and Seraweels for WS. Now all I need is Heca hands and feet for WS, Kirins osode both for charm and WS, and a Adaman Hauberk for both melee and WS. 4 pieces to go so I'm almost there though I'm not holding my breath for Adaman Hauberk. There is also a couple of CHR+ items that I'm looking at but they are not terribly important as I charm without relative ease with my current set-up.
